Is there a way to show a blank space if nothing is entered in a field and
yet still have the placeholder text?

custom number formating in a merge table?

I am trying to merge fields into a table from an excel file and I would like
to formating to appear the same as the excel formating. Some of the
formatting in excel is custom ie. if the phone number is 1234567891 I want it
to show as (123) 456-7891. How do I do this? ...

Using Word 2000, I get an appcrash almost every time I do ctrl-x
(edit-cut), and many times when I do ctrl-c (edit-copy)
Any idea what might be causing this? Thanks!

2007 Outlook and 2007 Word

absolutely love. But it is taking some getting used to. Here is my issue.

Please explain what you mean. Surely the contents of the letter are what you
have just typed on the keyboard. What else is there that you don't want to
print? If you mean all the non-printing characters that show you what you
are doing, then they don't print. Use Print Preview to see.

Totally new user to Word as a Form tool - I have created a form with various
fields that may or may not be filled out depending upon the number of
applicants. Can I not print the placeholder text if nothing is entered in
the space?
