Show row & column headings?

Hi Folks,
I am inserting an Excel object (insert --> object --> MS Excel
worksheet) in Word.
What i'd like to be able to do, is to be able to display the row and
columns headings or titles when i've "clicked off" the sheet.
I cant seem to figure it out, all i can see is the cells in the
spreadsheet, no h ...

ADDING A TABLE OF CONTENT TO A PREPARED DOCUMENT

I truly tried to follow the directions to add a table of content to my
document. However, as I went to References + add text in Table of Contents,
level 1, or whichever is applicable at the time, it changes my format. Ok so
I go forward to Insert index and enter ok as the template is ok. Then I get

Columns in a document

I have a document that I created 2 columns for the text in the document, now
as part of the instructions I'm supposed to insert a graphic and stretch it
across the entire document (i.e. end the columns)
I cannot figure out how to end the colums so that the graphic will go across
the entire page.
