Mouse not Working in Word 2007

Like other posts I cannot get the mouse to work within a Word 07' Document.
It works within the ribbon area and in every other program on my computer.
Has anyone found a solution? The program is alos freezing when trying to
close. The problems started simultaneously. therefore I think they are

Double clicking to open Word XML files in Word, and Excel XML file

I am creating a form where some responses are short and some may be a few
paragraphs long. But- when I shade the form and have it set as unlimited

Templates Distribute over the web?

We have a letterhead template we want to distribute to local offices. Can we
distribute them over the web? If we put them on the web and the offices copy
them down they are copied as documents. How do they get the template copied
down to their local machines? Do we need to get IT involved using SMS? ...

deleting in a form fields

a field and then back space or delete the text, the shading (and or the text
field) disappear.

And further to this can anyone tell me how to get the templates in Word 2007
to display English format dates once you select "today" in the drop down date
box. I have all the usual settings corrected to ensure the whole damn system
is default English for all date, time settings etc.

I thought that using an object would be the way to go, but I am not sure
