Fonts and Vista

I've just bought a laptop with Vista pre-installed. I notice that many
(if not all) TrueType fonts no longer work in Word. The only ones to
work are the OpenType fonts.
Is this deliberate policy on the part of Microsoft to phase out TrueType
fonts? Is there a way to get the TrueType fonts to work again as I ...

I have a user with several thousand documents created in the DOS version of
WordStar. Because of weird formatting issues when using the Office
converters, he opens these in Quick View Plus, copies out the text, and
pastes it into Word. However, he's switching to Vista, and QVP does not
work on Vista.

Works 4.5 upgrade with new laptop?

My desk top dinosaur was a windows 98 machine. I had been using MS
Works 4.5 for a lot of my word processing files.
I've now upgraded to a Laptop with Vista. If I buy the latest version
of MS Works can I bring my old Works files from my desktop machine to
be opened and readable in my new laptop?

converting .HTML files to .doc suing Office 2000

Hi The esteemed group,
I am looking for a .html to .doc or .rtf converter, using Office
2000. Is there any such utility available? The .html files has images
as well as text.
I cannot copy and paste in a new Word doc. The system hangs and I have
to use the task manager to close the hung page.
