WORD gives error message on closing

I am running WORD2007 under VISTA. When I try to close a file or exit WORD,
I get an error message "Microsoft Office Word has stopped working". If I try
to retry I get another message that Word is trying to retrieve information.
If I ignore or press cancel, Word restarts. How do I get "normal" file

I want to use "voice commands" and "dictation" in Word 2003. But those
options, which normally show up on the language bar, do not show up on my new
(albeit used) work computer. Any ideas how I can get "voice commands" and

KB 940791 and persistent loss of mouse functionality

The behavior described in KB 940791 is happening on my system, but the "fix"
only works for a few minutes. I am running Windows 7, upgraded from Vista.

I can no longer work in Word 2007. I get an error msg that reads something
like 'modification is not allowed..." I have read all the comments, and have
